It is now 5 years since the International Conference on Management, Leadership and Governance was established. The conference has traversed the globe, having been held in New Zealand, Thailand, Russia and the USA. ICMLG is generally attended by participants from more than 35 countries and attracts an interesting combination of academic scholars, practitioners and individuals who are engaged in various aspects of management, leadership and governance.

ICMLG 2017 is being held at the Wits Business School, Parktown, Johannesburg, South Africa on 16-17 March 2017 and the Conference Co-Chairs are Dr Thabang Mokoaleli-Mokoteli and Dr Zanele Ndaba.

University Information

Wits Business School (WBS) is the Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa.

Started in 1968, WBS offers a variety of postgraduate academic and executive education programs. WBS also specializes in the design of in-company programs, partnering with clients to develop management capacity. Wits Business school is located in Johannesburg, the heart of the most vibrant commercial hub of Africa. Through extensive networks, WBS has access to global thought leaders across all sectors of business and society.

The School’s strong research base is underpinned by a full-time academic staff cohort, ninety-five percent of whom have PhDs. It is the only business school in Africa to be a Partnership in International Management (PIM) member and the MBA program is AMBA accredited.

The School aims to create the academic, research, leadership and character excellence conditions that nurture graduates who grow and achieve beyond themselves as the continent’s leaders, in business and in society. WBS also aims to be a center of discourse and debate for business, government, civil society and organized labor- to address the issues critical to Africa fulfilling its economic destiny.

Getting to ICMLG 2017

The main international airport in Johannesburg is OR Tambo International Airport where flights from around the world arrive daily.There is also another smaller airport in the city. Lanseria Airport, which many of the South African Budget Airlines fly into.

Getting into and around Johannesburg

Gautrain: One of the city’s greatest prides, the Gautrain is a high speed train that links, OR Tambo International Airport and various Johannesburg suburbs. Each Gautrain station is linked to a series of feeder buses. http://www.gautrain.co.za/

Car hire: Car hire is quick and easy in South Africa. The airport offers a number of hire places, including the usual: Avis, Hertz, Budget and Tempest.

Conference Accommodation

You will find a number of hotels at various prices, but the designated Conference Hotel for ICMLG is the THE CROWNE PLAZA, ROSEBANK. This is usually where pre-conference drinks are held and where any transportation required for the conference dinner will run from.

Dinner Venue

The conference dinner will be at Moyo – Zoolake. This is included in the registration fee. Guest dinners may be bought at the point of registration at cost.
