Don’t miss this fantastic opportunity to take part in an expert-led Case Teaching and Writing workshop, co-organized by AAPBS Case Center and The Case Centre (previously known as ecch) Universiti Teknologi Brunei is honored to host the event. The workshop is suitable for faculty members from any academic discipline who has little experience of teaching and writing cases to be used in the classroom. This two day workshop will employ intensive hands on approach and provide means of seamlessly blending cases into the curriculum. It also provides means of transforming your cases into publications and provides opportunity to network with peers in the same field.

The workshop is led by Associate Professor Ning Su. Professor Su is an award-winning scholar and educator, and an expert on global outsourcing and innovation strategies. His research focuses on emerging technologies and emerging markets, and involves extensive interviews with top executives from diverse industries, including financial services, consulting, technology, manufacturing, fashion, and design, and across major global markets, such as the U.S., Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, India, and China. His research has been published in top academic journals such as MIT Sloan Management Review, MIS Quarterly, Decision Sciences, and IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management.

Professor Su is an award-winning scholar and educator, and an expert on global outsourcing and innovation strategies. His research focuses on emerging technologies and emerging markets, and involves extensive interviews with top executives from diverse industries, including financial services, consulting, technology, manufacturing, fashion, and design, and across major global markets, such as the U.S., Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, India, and China. His research has been published in top academic journals such as MIT Sloan Management Review, MIS Quarterly, Decision Sciences, and IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management.

Professor Su has extensive experience teaching in all programs at Ivey: undergraduate, MBA, EMBA, PhD, Executive Education, and Case Workshops for both professors and managers. Professor Su also hosted Ivey’s MBA event “Tech Talk”, guided Ivey’s MBA China Teaching Program, and judged the McKinsey and BCG Case Competitions. Professor Su has published a collection of cases on the topics of globalization, innovation, big data, and social media and ecommerce in Asia. These cases encompass major technology firms, from Volkswagen to Tencent and Didi Kuaidi. These cases are widely used at business schools worldwide. Most recently, Professor Su designed and taught a cross-function executive program at Anbang Insurance Group in China, and an executive program for senior IT and business leaders in Denmark.

In 2015, Professor Su received the highly prestigious Inaugural Early Career Award from the Association for Information Systems. From hundreds of scholars worldwide, only 5 received this award. In 2016, Professor Su received runner up for the Giarratani Rising Star Award of the Industry Studies Association, a world-leading multidisciplinary research community of industry practitioners, academics, and policymakers. Professor Su has previously received Best Article Awards from the Decision Sciences Institute and IBM Global Research. At Ivey, Professor Su has been awarded Western University Teaching Honour Roll Award of Excellence and Ivey Dean’s Commendation for Teaching Excellence every year. Professor Su also received the Commendation for Teaching Excellence at New York University’s Stern School of Business.

Professor Su received his Ph.D. from New York University’s Stern School of Business in New York City, Master’s degree from the University of Toronto, and Bachelor’s degree from Fudan University. Outside academia, Professor Su has worked at IBM Watson Research Center, News Corporation, and a European investment consulting company. Professor Su has been regularly quoted in Canada’s national media, such as Globe and Mail, and Financial Post. Professor Su has advised leading businesses, including KPMG, Gartner Research, and Anbang Insurance Group.
