Overview

The Global Business School Network, in collaboration with Africa Academy of Management (AFAM) and Lagos Business School (LBS), is pleased to organize a  workshop Fostering Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Development in Africa. To foster inclusive growth and sustainability development in Africa we must ensure that managers understand and are prepared to respond to the local challenges they face. Access to high quality, locally-relevant, management education and research (MER) is essential. But we are not yet doing enough. This workshop brings together management education leaders and scholars to share ideas improve our social impact through education and research activities, as well as consider opportunities to amplify our work by acting collectively.

Objectives

  1. Enable educators to share ideas about how their work contributes to sustainable growth in Africa.
  2. Learn new ideas about how each organization (GBSN, AFAM, & LBS) can achieve their mission and vision in Africa.
  3. Strengthen relationships and potential collaboration between the three organizations.
  4. Create global visibility for the work of GBSN, AFAM, and LBS.

Participation

This interactive workshop is designed for management education leaders and scholars who are focused on management in an African context, as well as select non-academic leaders, who are interested in taking a lead role and share ideas about developing educational and research programs that support inclusive growth and sustainable development on the continent.
