As the Head of School you will exercise responsibility on behalf of the Executive Dean of the Faculty to lead and advise on the strategic development and enhancement of the School’s curriculum, research, teaching and learning, ensuring alignment with the strategic direction of the Faculty and the University. You will also provide inspirational leadership to your School and Faculty by delivering a clear strategic vision, sound business judgments and effective decisions. You will be an approachable leader and motivator, able to communicate effectively with a diverse range of academic and professional services colleagues, inspiring them to provide the solutions which ultimately underpin student success in a collaborative manner.
Working in partnership with other senior colleagues, this role will deliver the Faculty’s strategic aims through the development and implementation of business plans, which are in accordance with the Executive Dean’s accountabilities and targets. You will bring a strong academic track record, but equally have excellent leadership and management skills. You will also be able to evidence your skill in managing resources (including people), overseeing and guiding as appropriate to ensure the effective day-to-day running of the School.
You will have experience of leading and managing complex projects with the ability to develop networks and strategic relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

You will have a PHD/DPhil or equivalent in terms of qualification or experience in a discipline relevant to the School as well as evidenced Academic Excellence in Teaching, Research or Scholarship in an appropriate field.

Candidates selected for interview will be required to provide a presentation to the panel.
