Irene Shaker is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of marketing at The American University in Cairo (AUC). She also serves as an Assistant professor and Marketing Program Coordinator at Misr International University (MIU). She was awarded her PhD in Marketing from Lancaster University, UK in 2014. She also receiveda Master of Business Administration (MBA)with concentration in Marketing from the AUC in 2001 and a BSc from AUC in 1997. Her research focuses on consumer behavior, advertising, family interactions, qualitative research, brand equity and sustainable development practices.She published in academic journals such as: The Journal of Social Sciences Research, International Journal of Business & Management Studies, and Journal of Brand strategy. She also presented in leading conferences such as: The Conference of the Association for Consumer research (ACR) in Atlanta in October 2019. Shaker taught a wide variety of courses such as: marketing strategy, advertising and promotion, marketing research, consumer behavior, principles of marketing, special topics in marketing and Introduction to Business. Shaker also supervise academic graduation projects/ Thesis for graduate and undergraduate students. On the professional side, Shaker is on the board of directors of “Happy Town for Touristic Investments”, the holding company of four hotels in Egypt. The company was founded in 1990 and expanded in different areas including Cairo, Dahab and MarsaAllam. Shaker received the “Certificate of Appreciation” from Misr International University (MIU) for cooperation and Dedication for the academic year (2018-2019)
