Vikas is a Human Resources evangelist with more than two decades of experience across diverse industries in driving people strategy. He is excited about the ‘future of human resources’ to meet the needs of a brave new world of work. He is interested in technology, higher education, research, and love classic melodies. He is an active member of several industry bodies and often speak at various industry and academic events.

In his current role, he helps catalyze growth by leading change and creating avenues to position brand Deloitte internally and in the marketplace. He also acts as a mentor and advisor to talent, enabling, and business teams across geographies on matters related to people strategy, people analytics, organization transformation, and employer branding.

His career journey consists of three distinct phases – learning, learning to lead, and leading from the front

Learning: He learned the ropes in human resources in the first three sectors he worked with: tyre, telecommunications, and textiles. In progressive and evolving workplaces, he learned to add value through innovation and change.

Learning to lead: As his career progressed, he took on leadership roles. He flexed his ability to fuel investment outcomes by growing the workforce. In one of his roles, he positioned the HR function as a profit center with marketable services to clients.

Leading from the front: Guiding India’s largest venture capital organization through a business model transformation took his career up a notch. He redefined the talent strategy of a telecom retail giant. He optimized resources by bringing in high-quality talent and created a well-oiled framework for all Talent processes.

Throughout his career, he has striven to demonstrate leadership that is value driven, innovative, knowledge focused, action-oriented and candid. His experience can be summarized as a journey of continuous learning, technology inspired innovation, change management, and employer brand building.
