Tamara Brezighello Hojaij

Tamara Brezighello Hojaij is a lawyer and researcher specialising in business and human rights, human rights due diligence, decent work and the governance of global value chains. She holds a PhD in Business and Management from Alliance Manchester Business School at the University of Manchester, a Master’s degree in Law from the University of São Paulo and an undergraduate degree in Law from Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV). Since 2013, she has worked at the FGV Centre for Human Rights and Business (FGV CeDHE), where she currently serves as Project Coordinator. Her work focuses on designing and delivering applied research and consultancy projects concerning the human rights impacts of business activities, corporate accountability, access to justice and the responsibilities of public and private actors in value chains. She has extensive experience in human rights impact assessments, territorial and sectoral diagnostics, and the development of due diligence systems, tools and recommendations. Her work spans sectors including agribusiness, mining, energy, construction and apparel, drawing on qualitative and mixed methods, legal and documentary analysis, socio-economic data, interviews and stakeholder engagement. Tamara has also worked as a consultant for the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and the Global Compact Network Brazil. She also served as an expert member of a UNEPFI group developing a protocol to guide financial institutions in supporting a just energy transition.
