Digital transformation plays a central role in the sustainable development of Africa. Yet the continent does not yet have the tech talent to enable this transformation. How can business, academia, government, and civil society work together to create an environment that unlocks the full potential of Africa’s aspiring entrepreneurs? GBSN Partners with Peaqs for the Africa Business Plan Challenge

GBSN is pleased to present its’ Africa Business Plan Challenge in a completely virtual format and has teamed up with Danish Edtech Startup Peaqs, in providing a platform to facilitate the competition. Peaqs is not so much a system for the organizers, as it is for the competition itself where student entrepreneurs continuously upload, display and refine their business cases in a kickstarter-like fashion. Judges, mentors and other key stakeholders can also logon and interact with the entrepreneurs via a comment function and a gamified stock market, where they play the role of ‘investors,’ and can allocate their funds in support of the projects they think are the best.

Leading High Performing Teams in Turbulent Times

Professor Manfred Kets de Vries and professor Graham Ward from INSEAD have a discussion on how the psychodynamic orientation to leadership can be helpful to guide people through the present crisis. Referring to Kets de Vries’ recent eBook, Journeys into Coronavirus Land: Lessons from the Pandemic, leadership in times of crisis is one of the subjects.

The program was established in 2011, implemented in West Africa in 2013, in East Africa in 2016, and expanded to India and Southern Africa in 2017.
