Abbigale Evans brings four years of experience in different media outlets to GBSN as a Multimedia Intern. She contributes her skills of writing, researching and multimedia editing skills to the GBSN team in day-to-day operations throughout many different parts of the organization.
Evans is majoring in multimedia journalism and creative writing at Virginia Tech. She also has a minor in psychology.
Evans has accumulated experience in various media outlets from her involvement in three different media organizations at Virginia Tech: Collegiate Times Newspaper, WUVT FM 90.7 Blacksburg Radio and Silhouette Literary Magazine. Evans is a copy editor and managing editor assistant for the Collegiate Times and works to produce a finalized newspaper weekly with her fellow editors. At WUVT FM 90.7, Evans produces a weekly radio show that plays music ranging from classic rock to current indie music. Evans is a prose editor for Silhouette and assists her editor in chief in compiling a semesterly literary magazine showcasing the creative works of Virginia Tech students. She also works at the Virginia Tech Writing Center as a writing consultant and tutors other students in need of help with any writing assignments.
Evans has previously worked at IKON Law Firm as an intern in the summer of 2019. She helped to create legal documents and file mortgages, deeds and wills. Evans was also a copy editor intern at Virginia Living for the summer of 2020. She helped copy edit the final magazine and wrote upwards of five articles a week for the online website as well as for the print magazine.
