Carolina Robino is a Senior Program Officer at Canada´s International Development Research Centre (IDRC). She is based in Montevideo at IDRC’s Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean. Her areas of interest include poverty and inequality, labour markets, financial inclusion and women and youth economic empowerment. She also works on the role of businesses and social innovation as a tool for inclusion of women and youth. Prior to joining IDRC, she worked as a researcher and visiting lecturer at the Department of Development Studies of the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University in South Africa.
She holds a B.A in Economics from the Universidad de la República in Uruguay; a M.A. in Latin American Social and Political Studies from the Universidad Alberto Hurtado in Chile, and PhD in Development Studies at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University.
