Member Schools Work Together for Map the System Challenge

Lancaster University Management School (LUMS) and ESA Business School working together to compete in the Map the System Challenge!

In partnership with the Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship at the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, GBSN invites faculty and staff across the network to bring Map the System to their students.Map the System challenges students to use ‘systems thinking’ as a guiding approach to understanding some of the most complex social and environmental challenges we face today. It is not a pitch competition, but rather a discovery process for participants of any discipline who have an interest in social and environmental change. It is designed to foster a systems thinking mindset among participants and encourages a learning first approach to social change – one where people take the time to understand and build upon existing efforts before attempting something new.

This year, Map the System has eight participating member schools joining the challenge, and in true global spirit, Lancaster University Management School (LUMS) has coordinated a scholarship to enable participation for ESA Business School in Lebanon. It is wonderful to see GBSN members supporting one another to ensure that all who wish to, are able to compete. LUMS is a returning competitor, and ESA will be joining for the first time this year along other participants such as the University of Leeds, ESADE Business School, Ashesi University, and so many more!

If you are interested in joining this unique challenge, you can register your institution now via the Map the System website before 31 October 2021 and join a global community of social impact educators committed to providing students with transformational learning opportunities. Last year over 60 global educational institutions participated in Map the System across 6 continents!
