Assistant Dean of the Magelli Office of Experiential Learning

Andrew Allen is the Assistant Dean of Experiential Learning and Strategic Engagement at the Gies College of Business, at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Part of his role is to oversee the Magelli Office of Experiential Learning. Allen teaches courses in action learning and project management, and helps lead iMBA immersion courses. His focus is on experiential learning methodologies and higher education innovation. Additional teaching interests include business problem-solving and professional development. Allen began his academic career at the University of Illinois in 2012, and was named director of Action Learning in 2017 and director of the Magelli Office of Experiential Learning in 2019. He received his BA in international studies from Brigham Young University in 2005, and earned his MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management in 2010.
