Ashish is based in the London office of GAIN and leads the demand creation part of the new GAIN strategy to improve quality of diets. He has been with GAIN since 2017.
Ashish brings over 30 years of marketing and commercial experience to this role. He started his career with Procter & Gamble in India in Brand Management, before moving the UK in late 1993 and working as a marketing consultant to consumer goods companies in the Middle East and E European markets for a few years. Ashish spent the next 12 years with Diageo, the leading alcoholic drinks business in the world, in various senior roles in marketing, business strategy and supply chain strategy, including Procurement.
In 2010, Ashish moved to the not-for-profit sector, joining the Fairtrade Foundation in UK, an ethical labelling organisation, as their Commercial Director. Ashish moved into the Nutrition sector in 2015, joining the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), a philanthropic donor organisation, to advise them on their strategy to partner with food businesses to improve nutrition outcomes in developing countries in Asia and Africa.
Ashish holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Mumbai and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad.
