HH Sheikha Intisar AlSabah

Founder and Chair Woman

Intisar Foundation

Proud mother, successful entrepreneur, author, promoter of the arts and committed philanthropist, HH Sheikha Intisar AlSabah is all about spreading positivity. A princess of the royal AlSabah family of Kuwait, Sheikha Intisar focuses her efforts on empowering those in need by promoting education, access to opportunities and women’s rights. For her, her own happiness goes hand in hand with the happiness of her fellow Kuwaitis.

Peace in the Arab world is HH Sheikha Intisar AlSabah’s life vision.

From her native Kuwait, it guides her work as an entrepreneur, philanthropist, author, film producer, and columnist and is the source of her mission to empower children, young people, and women.

Her social enterprises include Intisars and Ebbarra, non-profits Alnowair and Bareec and the charitable Intisar Foundation. HH Sheikha Intisar is often seen in refugee camps across the region, offering solace to women suffering from war trauma.

HH Sheikha Intisar’s own personal victory over trauma caused by the 1990 Iraqi invasion of Kuwait fuels her conviction to spare no effort to self-empower Arab women. A testament to that is Intisar Foundation’s pioneering One Million Arab Women initiative, a 30-year plan to alleviate trauma in one million Arab women impacted by the brutality of war, through drama therapy.

HH Sheikha Intisar is on a mission to bring peace to the Arab world through different forms of psychology. Through the “Intisar Foundation” a UK based charity she founded that uses the creative therapeutic approach of drama therapy she aims to heal, support and empower 1 million Arab women affected by war in the next 20 years.

After spending many years in the corporate world, she decided to leave this behind and become a social entrepreneur and philanthropist. With her bold ambition and love for life, and as a mother of four daughters, she’s an ardent supporter of women and young people, with an unwavering determination to make a better and more peaceful society.

She’s the driving force behind several initiatives to promote positive thinking, wellbeing, and strong ethical values. She started the first publishing house in the Arab world to focus solely on Wellbeing publications; created “Alnowair” an NGO that brings positive, social behavioural change in Kuwait; and started “Bareec” an educational programme which establishes a positive learning environment in schools. She has also produced four award-winning films using local Kuwaiti youth, and created “Intisars” and “Ebbarra” 2 jewellery brands that promote self-belief, with 50% of the profits going to the “Intisar Foundation”.
