Julienne Shields is President/CEO of the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE) an organization devoted to boldly advancing entrepreneurship education efforts. Before USASBE, Julienne worked for Millikin University as a professor and entrepreneurship center director, was an educational innovator within the K-12 space, an entrepreneur at the University of Illinois’ EnterpriseWorks incubator, and spent the formative part of her early career working in computer software consulting. Her undergraduate degree is in classical archaeology, and is a strong believer in the value of humanities and history as part of the entrepreneurial experience.
She has edited and authored books on arts entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship education with the perspective of an administrator creating safe spaces for educators to infuse entrepreneurship into their disciplines and coursework.
Julienne is a mother of 4 children who inform her life as an educator in myriad ways. She avidly reimagines and transforms her life through practices of diet, yoga, meditation, and travel.
