President and CEO, United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE)
Julienne Shields is President/CEO of the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE) an organization devoted to boldly advancing entrepreneurship education efforts. Immediately prior to joining USASBE, Julienne worked for Millikin University as a professor and entrepreneurship center director, was an educational innovator within the K-12 space, an entrepreneur at the University of Illinois’ EnterpriseWorks incubator, and spent the formative part of her early career working in computer software consulting. Her undergraduate degree is in classical archaeology, and is a strong believer in the value of humanities and history as part of the entrepreneurial experience.
She has authored a book on arts entrepreneurship and various chapters on entrepreneurship education from the perspective of an administrator creating safe spaces for educators to infuse entrepreneurship into their disciplines and coursework.
Julienne is a mother of 4 children – including an adult, tax-paying daughter, twin boys preparing for college, and a 9-yr old son with Down Syndrome, and all of them inform her life as an educator in myriad ways. She avidly reimagines and transforms her life through practices of diet, yoga, meditation, and travel.
