Dr. Kate Tulenko is Founder and CEO of Corvus Health, a global health workforce services firm which solves health workforce challenges through a novel set of approaches including team redesign, workflow optimization, increasing staff retention, reducing staff burnout, training, HR management, productivity and quality improvement, recruitment, and advisory services. Corvus Health’s clients include hospitals and health systems, medical and nursing schools, insurance companies, the World Bank, Tata Trusts, GE Healthcare, and private equity firms. Dr. Tulenko is a globally recognized expert in health workforce and health systems strengthening and has served on expert panels for the WHO, the American Hospital Association, the Rockefeller Foundation, and the Aspen Institute.
Previously, Dr. Tulenko served as Director of CapacityPlus, the US Agency for International Development’s flagship global health workforce project; as Vice President, Health Systems Innovation, for IntraHealth International, a global non-profit health systems contractor; and as coordinator of the World Bank’s Health Workforce Program. She received a Rainer Arnhold Fellowship for innovation in global development, was named one of “50 Women Experts in Global Health Security” by Women in Global Health, and one of “300 Women Leaders in Global Health” by the Geneva Graduate Institute of Development Studies, has published widely, including in the New York Times and Foreign Policy, and is an occasional global health commentator for Fox Business News and the Chinese Global Television Network. She received her bachelors in biochemistry from Harvard, her masters in history and philosophy of science from Cambridge University, her MD from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, and her MPH from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health where she is an adjunct professor in the Department of Health Systems.
