Prof Morris Mthombeni is the Dean of the University of Pretoria’s Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS). He has a wealth of corporate experience in banking, insurance, and investment management – with a cumulative 32 years in the financial services industry.  Prof Mthombeni lecturers on PhD and DBA programmes as well as the Master’s programmes on corporate strategy and governance. He also lectures on GIBS’ flagship global executive development and board leadership programmes.  Mthombeni is the joint lead faculty on the Harvard Business Schools’ Senior Executive Programme Africa (SEPA). Prof Mthombeni contributes locally and internationally to the higher education sector as Chairman of the South African Business Schools Association (SABSA), a board member of the UN Global Compact Local Network South Africa (UNGC LN South Africa), founding Dean of Business Schools for Climate Leadership Africa, a member of the Academy of International Business Deans Roundtable (AIB), a member of the UN Principles of Responsible Management Education (PRME) Global Chapter Council, and a member of the Association of MBAs (AMBA) and Business Graduates Association (BGA) Africa & Middle East Advisory Council.
