EFMD
Nadine Burquel is Director of Business Schools Services in EFMD since July 2014. As such she is directing the portfolio of EFMD’s wide range of events organized around the world, advisory services and leadership development programmes. These include an International Deans’ Programme, a Research Leadership Programme and the EFMD (ESMU) – HUMANE Winter School for senior university managers.
Building on more than 20 years experience with EU policies and programmes in education she is also directing the EU development work in EFMD. This includes managing the EFMD participation in three large multiannual framework contracts for services in all fields of education and training for DG Education and Culture of the European Commission.
In other contexts Nadine has directed a major project to review European-Russian joint study programmes, completed an evaluation of the EU EDULINK education programme (Africa, Caribbean and Pacific countries) and an assignment on university governance in Thailand.
Previously as Secretary-General of ESMU (European Centre for the Strategic Management of Universities) she was involved in many consultation exercises on EU policy and programme developments in higher education and was on many stakeholders’ and expert groups. She directed a large number of EU-funded projects related to university governance.
Nadine has contributed to many publications and reports, including more recently studies on EU-Mexico and EU-Brazil internationalization, a study on the educational activities of the KICs (Knowledge and Innovation Communities) in the EIT (European Institute of Technology), an assignment to assess Erasmus Mundus Master Courses and a study on Quality Assurance in Higher Education and in Vocational Education and Training.
