Suranjan’s area of interest covers statistics, operations research, marketing analytics and design thinking & innovation. He has taught for over 23 years in regular MBA programs and in Executive education in some of the highly reputed Business Schools in India, Belgium, Canada, Dubai, Netherlands, Singapore and Sydney. He has participated and presented papers in seminars and conferences in India and abroad. He has taken part in faculty exchange programs in Belgium and Netherlands and has worked in EU and World Bank projects on technology and knowledge management. At SPJIMR Mumbai he has championed several new and innovative academic initiatives, including starting the One-year MBA program in 2005.

Prior to joining academics he has been in the industry for five years, initially handling sales in the electronic components industry and later in the commercial operations in steel industry handling marketing, imports and materials management functions.

Suranjan holds a B.Sc. (Hons.) degree in Economics from St. Xavier’s College in Kolkata, M.Sc. degree in Economics from Calcutta University in Kolkata, and completed the doctoral program as Fellow from Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, specializing in Public Systems, Technology learning and Innovation. Traveling, photography, cooking and an active interest in sports has been driving his hobbies and interests.
