GBSN Members are Invited to October’s Cross-Border Collab: The Essential Role of Business Schools in Shaping Society
As the founding Dean of the School of Business at the American University in Cairo (AUC), Sherif Kamel played a lead role in shaping a city and country, as well as building a business school. Join Dean Kamel for our October Collab to explore the critical role that a business school plays in the community and other insights from his recently published book, Leading Change in Challenging Times: Lessons of Disruption and Innovation from Egypt – Thoughts, Observations, and Reflections.
In his book Kamel examines the significant role that business schools, particularly AUC, play in educating the next generation of business leaders, policymakers, entrepreneurs and change agents. He emphasizes that human capital is one the world’s most valuable assets, that it is the role of each individual to contribute to the socioeconomic development and growth of their own committees and the world. By instilling the importance of lifelong learning, business schools can continue the development of this critical asset.
In the October Collab Dean Kamel will share with us his insights on how GBSN members can help shape the society of the future on an organization and personal level. We will discuss questions like:
- How can business schools support and encourage lifelong learning to aid in the development of more skilled human capital?
- What is the role of business schools in the larger education ecosystem in shaping society?
- How do business schools continue to remain relevant and competitive in an ever changing world?
