Attending the summer school in Switzerland was an enriching experience that exceeded my expectations in every aspect. The course on conditional process analysis with Amanda Montoya was exceptional. Despite considering myself familiar with the subject, Amanda’s expertise opened up a whole new world of possibilities with the software. Her detailed approach to teaching was commendable, making the course both informative and engaging. Equally impressive was the course on Online Behavioral Research, led by Prof Gabriele and Prof Johannes. Being pioneers in the field, their practical focus and emphasis on individual projects were invaluable. It was a privilege to learn from the very authors of several seminal papers on these methods.
Beyond the academic excellence, the charm of St. Gallen and the serenity of Switzerland added an unforgettable dimension to the experience. The picturesque beauty of the place, combined with a diverse peer group from various countries, made the journey even more enjoyable. Thanks to the impeccable organization by Hans and Nicole, we could immerse ourselves in the local culture, indulge in sports, explore Appenzell, visit a chocolate factory, and admire the stunning lakes without having to worry about planning anything.
As a recipient of the GSERM scholarship, I am immensely grateful to GBSN for providing me with this opportunity. The 10th iteration of GSERM was truly life-changing, and I am determined to return for the 15th iteration to continue Amanda’s course and reconnect with the friends I made along the way.
The summer school in Switzerland not only expanded my academic horizons but also offered a unique cultural experience. The exceptional teaching, breathtaking surroundings, and the chance to form bonds with students from diverse backgrounds made it an unforgettable journey. I would highly recommend this summer school to anyone seeking a well-rounded and enriching educational experience in one of the most beautiful places on Earth.
