GBSN and How to Change the World are delighted to invite GBSN members to join the inaugural year of our Global Business Student Changemaker program.
Our new Global Business Student Changemaker program is designed to provide unique experiences for GBSN member students that catalyze international collaboration, provide virtual global mobility opportunities, contribute to sustainable development and community engagement, and advance academic excellence.
Aim
To identify select students at participating GBSN members with high potential to be positive Changemakers throughout their careers and lives and to provide those students with unique international collaboration and virtual mobility experiences that support, develop, and enhance their changemaking abilities and potential.
Program overview
- With support from GBSN and How to Change the World, each participating GBSN member will identify a small cohort of students to participate in the program.
- Every selected student will be formally recognized as a âChangemakerâ (a recognition they can add to their CVs and LinkedIn) and will participate in:
- a series of curated and highly interactive global virtual events exclusive to the Changemakersâ network (e.g. expert roundtables; networking with corporate leaders; topical peer-groups);â and
- an intensive, multi-university and interdisciplinary Global Sustainability Project Bootcamp run by How to Change the World.§
- GBSN & How to Change the World are developing international media partnerships to create visibility for both the participating GBSN members and individual Changemakers.
â GBSN members participating in the inaugural year will be invited to help shape this curated series of virtual programs and events. (Select events will likely also be opened to participation by students participating in other GBSN initiatives.)
§ During the Bootcamp, Changemaker students will benefit from engaging with students from other disciplines and institutions beyond GBSN members.
Steps to participate in the inaugural year
All GBSN members interested are warmly welcome to participate in this inaugural year. Upon confirming participation, you will be asked to identify the main point of contact at your school for this program. Then our program team (comprised of GBSN and How to Change the World staff) will liaise with and support that point of contact throughout the selection of students and scheduling/confirming studentsâ participation in the program activities.
Cost of participation
While there will be a cost to participate, GBSN and How to Change the World are committed to making this program as accessible as possible for all GBSN members. As such, participation in this program will cost less than How to Change the Worldâs normal partnership model, while both retaining all the same benefits and adding exclusive interactive events for the Changemaker network. During our initial conversation about the program, we are very happy to discuss the best option for your schoolâs current context.
