Maureen Kangu is an Assistant Professor of marketing at the United States International University, Africa and a seasoned academic and researcher with expertise in marketing management, Business development and digital Business. Beyond academia, she has conducted field research on consumer perceptions, counterfeit markets and digital adaptation, equipping her with a nuanced understanding of how technology intersects with business and society. Dr. Kangu is passionate about global collaboration and has actively participated in international conferences, including multiple WASC Accreditation Resource Conferences in the U.S. Her research contributions span consumer behavior, digital marketing, business ethics and public sector performance. She has co-authored peer-reviewed journal articles and a book chapter on video marketing and sustainable development goals in Africa. Her current projects include a collaborative research initiative with MSU scholars on counterfeiting behavior in Kenya, she is Principal Investigator in a study ranking Kenya’s urban tourism destinations and she is spearheading a project on sustainable waste management in Kenya. Dr. Kangu is a certified trainer under the UNODC Global Integrity Education Project and has completed extensive training in online course design, psychological first aid and mentorship. She has mentored students under the UNODC program on ethics and leadership as well as business innovation under the USIU innovation center.
