Previously, Wilfred Mijnhardt has been Executive Director of the Erasmus Research Institute of Management (ERIM) (1999-2014). ERIM is the joint research institute of Rotterdam School of Management (RSM) and the Erasmus School of Economics (ESE) an institute with over 300 management researchers in five research programmes and an advanced Doctoral Programme (MPhil & PhD) in Business and Management at Erasmus University Rotterdam.
Since ERIM’s start in 1999, Mr. Mijnhardt has been instrumental in its development into one of the largest and prominent research institutes in Research in Management in Europe. In particular, he has been an innovator of academic business development & the impact support organization within the institute with a strong drive to strengthen the quality, productivity, viability, impact of ERIM research and the academic career-paths of ERIM researchers. Currently his institutional development is focused on the fundamental change from a research driven towards a dual impact driven strategy process within the ERIM research community, in both academic and managerial ways, benefiting of a new generation of web based facilities to support research, dissemination and use along the lines of web 2.0 and semantic web concepts to enhance quality, raise visibility and increase impact. As frontrunner on these issues Mr. Mijnhardt also acts as a special advisor to the Executive Board of EUR and serves in several national committees that aim to drive innovation in universities.
Internationally he is an active member in networks like EIASM, CEMS and EUA. Mr. Mijnhardt holds a bachelor degree in Economics, a master’s degree in Public Administration (both from Erasmus University) a postgraduate certificate in Management of Change and participates as presenter in the joint ABS/BAM Development Programme for Directors of Research. He also contributes to the EFMD/EURAM development programme for research directors ‘Creating Research Leadership in Europe’.
