My colleagues and I at the American University of Cairo eagerly look forward to welcoming you to our campus for GBSN Beyond 2023. Resting at the gateway to the Nile River delta, Cairo (or Al-Qāhirah in Arabic) is an enchanting city—a home to ancient wonders as well as a modern and bustling business and cultural center. The American University of Cairo, with campuses in Tahrir Square and New Cairo, recently celebrated a century of leadership as Egypt’s global University.
It is our great honor to host guests from more than 30 countries for the conference and GBSN’s 20th anniversary celebration. At the AUC School of Business we are dedicated to realizing a positive human impact that is scalable and sustainable. How fitting to host such a diverse and distinguished group of academics, practitioners, and government leaders who are focused on the transformative power of talent and technology to help people to create a better world. In our sessions and conversations we will challenge one another to think beyond what exists today, sharing ideas and inspiration for transforming our world through business and education.
And how our world yearns for change. For security, dignity, and the means to live, to create, to lift up and empower our families and communities to work together to solve our most critical challenges. We gather in the shadow of immense pain and suffering, deeply saddened at recent events in our region and our world. And we are motivated—more than ever—to transform our world for the better, one student, one business, one industry, and one community at a time. We’ll continue that journey together in Cairo.
