The landscape of African business education is diverse and undergoing rapid transformation, shaped by economic growth, digital innovation, and rising demand for entrepreneurial and managerial skills.
Voices Across Africa is a study on the future of business education across Africa. The project is led by GBSN and CarringtonCrisp, with support from partners including Education Sub Saharan Africa (ESSA) and AACSB.
Through interviews and surveys, the study will explore the views of African business school and industry leaders as well as current, prospective, and former African business school students. The research seeks to illuminate innovation, best practices, and opportunities for business education. We plan to engage participants from more than half of the countries in Africa to document locally relevant insights and identify shared themes across countries and regions. The study will investigate questions like:
- How might business schools across Africa evolve to meet future challenges and opportunities, leading development nationally, regionally and across Africa?
- What do national, regional and pan-African businesses, learners, and other stakeholders expect from African business schools?
- What do African nations want/need from their business schools?
- Are there new models of business education emerging from within Africa that could be useful in other parts of the world?
- In what ways are African business schools connecting with other schools on the continent and elsewhere across the globe for knowledge exchange and collaboration?
A report from the initial phase of research will be published in 2026.
