COVID-19

The COVID-19 outbreak continues to cause disruption to business schools across the world. Every business school and organization has had to take quick and decisive steps to protect their students and staff, as well as do their part to “flatten the curve” wherever they are. Some schools have had to close entirely, while others have had to move courses entirely online. It is vitally important for business schools to lead the way forward during these uncertain times.

We must think beyond our own institutions and develop collaborative solutions and more robust and resilient systems. And we must explore the longer-term implications of the coronavirus outbreak for business and society. For GBSN that means taking a lead role in and for the developing world, which is particularly vulnerable for a variety reasons.

With borders closing and social distancing being encouraged, GBSN is working on different ways to leverage technology to keep our network connected. As the outbreak worsens now is the time to share ideas and learn from one another.

GBSN is committed to providing platforms for digital information sharing and learning across our industry.

The World After COVID-19

While we struggle to control the spread of COVID-19 and to save lives today, thoughts are also turning to what the world will look like once COVID-19 no longer presents a crisis. While much uncertainty remains about the duration of the current crisis, there is a growing consensus that COVID-19 will have a lasting impact on the world. In more ways than one, our behaviors have probably been changed forever. It is likely that governments, businesses and society will witness significant changes in the coming months and years.

At GBSN, we are keen to explore the contours of the world after COVID-19, the world that is emerging as a result of the extraordinary times we are experiencing today. To do so, we are reaching out to our community to better understand the many ways in which the world after COVID-19 will be different for our key stakeholders including governments, businesses, universities and students. We are seeking perspectives to the question of whether 2020 represents a global turning point.

GBSN Emerge

The GBSN Emerge Interview Series features brief interviews with relevant professionals across the higher education sector. Interviewees range from member school representatives, business leaders, and our broad network of partners. The series hopes to create an information-sharing platform by fostering conversations around the world. Topics of discussion may range from relevant current events, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, to business and member school entrepreneurial ideas, and best practices.

STEPPING UP YOUR ONLINE GAME

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced many educational institutions around the globe to move online in just a matter of days. While many administrators have thought or hoped that this situation is going to be short-lived, the current developments indicate the opposite: online teaching is here to stay! With this realization, pressure by faculty and students mounts for administrators to step up their online game and to improve the experience for their faculty and students.

In this webinar, presented by GBSN, XOLAS, EFMD and IE Business School, we discussed the steps an educational institution has to take to becoming an online powerhouse.
