GBSN Members are Invited to April’s Cross-Border Collab: Examining The Principles of Sustainable Business

The April Collab will feature special guest Rob van Tulder, professor of International Business at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, and co-founder of the Department of Business-Society Management, one of the world’s leading capacity groups on teaching and research in sustainable business. As a pioneer of teaching sustainable business, Dr. van Tulder will share with us his unique journey tackling the complex challenges of teaching sustainability and explore with us the exciting opportunities for business schools at the intersection of sustainability and internationalization.

We will also discuss Dr. van Tulder’s recent publication, Principles of Sustainable Business and his experience writing an integrated approach to sustainable business education. His book is designed to provide graduate and postgraduate(executive) students, policymakers and business professionals a window into the complexities of sustainable business. Paul Polman, Former Unilever CEO and recent Collab guest, said “Principles of Sustainable Business presents state-of-art science-based answers”. Ban Ki-moon, 8th Secretary-General of the United Nations, said “This book is an important contribution by providing valuable insights and practical examples of how companies can achieve greater impact towards a better world”.

We hope GBSN Members will join the April Collab to discuss what we can learn from Dr. van Tulder’s experience writing Principles of Sustainable Business and explore the future of international sustainable business education. We will explore questions like:

  • What is the importance of an integrated approach when it comes to sustainable business education?
  • How is Principles of Sustainable Business different from an average textbook?
  • How can business schools foster corporate partnerships to accelerate the SDGs?
