In an effort to continue to expand access and equitable attainment of high quality business credentials, Western Governors University (WGU) recently launched one-year paths for its MBA, MBA Information Technology Management, MBA Healthcare Management, and MS Management & Leadership programs. At a cost of around $9,000 and an average salary increase ranging from $10,000-$16,200 depending on the program, these pacing options allow learners to move through course material more quickly so they can signal their skills and competencies to the market and benefit from the credentials sooner.
WGU’s College of Business programs are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) and the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU) and the 12-month accelerated paths include customized pacing support based on each learner’s target graduation date while maintaining the rigor, instructional quality, and support services students in the standard 24-month paths receive.
Approximately 40% of WGU’s MBA students were leveraging WGU’s competency-based model and completing their degree within 12 months prior to the release of the one-year paths, and by adding the new paths WGU hopes to help more learners meet their goals and improve their lives by earning skills-based, in-demand credentials at an affordable cost.
