GBSN member school, The American University in Cairo recently joined the Global Alliance in Management Education (CEMS). AUC is the first university from the MENA region to join the global network. This new academic partnership now makes CEMS present on all continents. The CEMS network consists of 30 leading business schools, 7 NGOs and 74 corporate partners.
All members are dedicated to educating and preparing future generations of international business leaders by participating in the CEMS Master in International Management. The one-year program is offered by CEMS’ academic and corporate partners. Students spend each semester at a different CEMS member school plus completing a business project and a mandatory international internship. Advanced knowledge of two languages in addition to their native language is also required, preparing the students to be truly international business leaders. The program has been ranked as the fourth-best master in management in 2015 by the Financial Times.
“AUC is a fantastic institution with a rich history and strong values that are close to ours: support for a pluralistic world, academic rigor and a track record in excellence,” said Executive Director of CEMS, Roland Seigers. “Incoming CEMS students spending time in Cairo will find one of the most impressive campuses in the world, a young and thriving population and high-level engagement opportunities with Egyptian and international companies.”
CEMS corporate partners are also looking forward to the new partnership as they are interested in hiring international talents with regional knowledge. Ashraf El Afifi, President of CEMS corporate partner Henkel IMEA said:
“By tapping into the CEMS network, we will be able to give exposure to the students as well as get the best talents into our diverse teams. As a company, we strongly believe in the triple 2 philosophy which is 2 business units, 2 functions and 2 countries Ð which makes us unique in our approach to talent mobility and talent development, something we hope the CEMS students will find attractive.”
