On December 6th, 2016 The Cave Hill School of Business Inc. at The University of the West Indies was officially renamed in honor of its major benefactor and long-term strategic supporter, Sagicor Financial Corporation. The renaming was the final phase of a Memorandum of Understanding between the two entities, established on 18th July, 2013.
For twenty-five years, the institution formerly known as The Cave Hill School of Business Inc. at The University of the West Indies (CHSB-UWI) has remained committed to the mission of developing the region’s human capital to ensure that businesses can successfully compete, regionally and internationally. Through its Academic programs, CHSB-UWI has produced more than 3000 regional and international graduates Ð residents of Barbados, the OECS and North America. Additionally, the Strategic Business Services is dedicated to in-depth organizational research and consultancies. This unit is also responsible for the design and delivery of professional development programmes and initiatives – delivering in excess of 250 programs for employees from entry level through middle and senior management of highly progressive organizations.
Referring to the great impact of the business school throughout the region, Professor V. Eudine Barriteau Ð Principal and Pro Vice Chancellor, University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus stated, “the University is pleased with the success of the suite of diploma and executive programmes, targeted consultancies, highly specialized training and strategic business and educational services the School has delivered in Barbados and the Caribbean.”
The partnership between Sagicor and CHSB-UWI will enhance the school’s capacity for efficient delivery and promotion of programs which, through advanced technology and a dedicated customer-centered methodology, will improve the CHSB experience for companies and clients of the organization.
