GIBS wins excellence award for United Nations PRME Sustainability Reporting

The University of Pretoria’s Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS) has been recognized for excellence in reporting for its Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) Sharing Information on Progress (SIP) 2019-2020 report. The GIBS SIP report was recognized for its approach to assessing progress in relation to the PRME principles and the sharing of challenges and learning experiences. The selection team was composed of 17 Signatories from 14 countries and four students from three countries.

GIBS has been a member of PRME since 2009 and one of the PRME Champion schools since 2018. The UN PRME Champions program centers on developing the next generation of leaders with the necessary knowledge and skills to address the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). As a United Nations-supported initiative that aims to amplify the important role of sustainability in business schools around the world, PRME equips today’s business students with the understanding and ability to deliver change now and in the future. As a voluntary initiative with over 800 signatories worldwide, PRME has become the largest organized relationship between the United Nations and management-related higher education institutions.

“It is a huge privilege for GIBS to receive this award. I am so proud to work with so many amazing people in the GIBS community who made this possible.
