In collaboration with Coursera, GBSN member school, HEC Paris has launched its first entirely online international degree program, the online Master’s in Innovation and Entrepreneurship (OMIE). The online program is designed for both present and future business leaders who wish to set up new ventures or inspire innovation within their organizations.
HEC Paris partnered with Coursera to provide students with the opportunity to work in teams over a six-month on a selected project, from the planning stages to bringing the idea to life. The program provides students with weekly mentoring sessions with accomplished entrepreneurs and leaders in business. Students who successfully complete the program will then have an opportunity to bring their project to fruition by applying for seed funding from HEC Paris, providing the opportunity to have their project incubated at HEC’s Station F based incubator, the world’s biggest startup campus. The entrepreneurial focus the program exudes will allow students to explore a multitude of ways of thinking and problem solving when faced with real-word opportunities.
Peter Todd, HEC Paris’ Dean, hopes to see students leave the course with enough knowledge to successfully launch their own venture or bring innovation to existing ones. Todd added, “As the aspirations of Indians change, more value has been placed on entrepreneurship education which aims to provide the required knowledge, skills and motivation to encourage entrepreneurial success.” Classes start in September of 2017 for the first intake of students. Applications are now open.
