Learning with cases can be a challenging experience for students.
The interactive study guide will take your students through the process, providing practical tips, tricks and tools.
What will students learn?
Along with understanding more about cases and the case method, they’ll learn how to:
- analyze a case quickly and thoroughly using our practical Case Analysis Framework
- prepare efficiently for class
- participate in a case discussion
- plan for assessment through cases.
They’ll also hear from case method expert, Scott Andrews, to get a unique insight into the instructor’s point of view.
Why not assign the guide as pre-course reading so that your students arrive in their first case class ready to participate effectively!
Can I preview the guide?
Yes, if you are a registered, approved educator on our site you can access a full preview copy.
The guide is viewed in your browser so there’s no need to download any app or software.
How can my students access the guide?
To make accessing the guide as easy as possible you can choose from the following options:
1. Students can buy access to the guide as individuals
Provide your students a link to www.thecasecentre.org/LWCguide where they can purchase their own copy of the guide.
2. Add it to a CoursePack
If you’re using CoursePack Creator you can search for the guide using its title ‘Learning with Cases: An Interactive Study Guide’ or its reference number ‘LWCISG’. It can be added to both StudentPay and SchoolPay CoursePacks.
3. Buy access for a group of students and provide the link on your VLE
Find the guide in the Case Centre’s product search and add it to your basket. Buy it for teaching/training purposes and tell us how many students you’d like to purchase access for. Once your order has been placed you’ll receive a link in your library section on our site to the guide. This link can be added to your VLE or course area.
When students click the link they’ll land on the guide homepage where they’ll need to provide some simple details so that we can create their personal copy of the guide.
Each time a student clicks the link and signs up for the guide one place will be allocated from the number that you purchased. You can keep track of how many places you have left, and which students have signed up, in your library section on our site.
The places that you purchase can be used until two weeks after the course end date that you supply when you order the guide.
How much does the guide cost?
$6.50 per student.
How long do students have access to the guide for?
Once they have purchased or signed up for the guide, students have lifetime access to it.
