ESSEC Business School has recently earned its AMBA accreditation and joins a group of the world’s leading, international business schools to hold the “triple crown.”
In 1997, ESSEC was the first school outside of North America to be accredited by AACSB International and in 2003 the school obtained its EQUIS accreditation. Now, with the acquisition of the AMBA accreditation, ESSEC joins an exclusive circle of business schools with the triple accreditation. The AMBA accreditation is important for business schools and its students alike as it provides an international standard of excellence that serves as proof of the institutions exacting academic standards.
Created in 1967, the Association of MBAs (AMBA) is the leading authority on postgraduate management education. AMBA accreditation represents the highest standard of achievement in postgraduate business education and is earned only by the best programs. It provides a global standard for MBA, DBA and Master’s programs and has only awarded the accreditation to the top 2% of business schools in over 70 countries.
Obtaining the AMBA accreditation is the result of a self-assessment process and an in situ visit by the dedicated Assessment Team. At the end of the peer evaluation process, AMBA highlighted in particular the “international diversity across programs” as well as the “excellent links with companies which enhance the programs in a number of ways; teaching, internships, apprenticeships and employment.” Additionally, AMBA noted that, “The school impressively lives up to its mission to create entrepreneurial, innovative and creative graduates who are highly valued by employers.”
Three of ESSEC’s programs were evaluated and accredited by AMBA: the Global MBA; the Executive MBA; and the MSc in Management.
According to Vincenzo Esposito Vinzi, Dean and President of ESSEC Business School, “ESSEC has always been a pioneering institution that is passionate about modernizing and transforming higher education, research and, more broadly, education practices. As we have now earned the AMBA, AACSB and the EQUIS accreditations, this serves as recognition of our perpetual efforts to evolve, innovate and provide high-quality programs.”
