My Experience at GSERM St. Gallen

width=Firstly, I would like to commend the organizers of GSERM for delivering quite an exceptional program and overall experience. The program was well coordinated and everything ran like clockwork. When I first arrived in St. Gallen I got a bit lost trying to find my way, but thanks to the helpful locals who walked with me to my destination and gave me a crash course on the bus system, I was able to move around with ease. I found the courses extremely valuable. The courses I chose to take were the Bayesian Data Analysis as well as Analyzing Discreet Experiments. The lecturers were very well prepared and practical in their approaches. Their help extended beyond the course and I am still in touch with them.

I enjoyed the social events organized by GSERM, including the volleyball and the trip to the castle. These events enabled us to socialize with fellow students from all over the world. I made many friends and shared interesting research nuggets. Thanks to the relationships I built in the program, I am due to publish a research paper with a colleague I met and will also be visiting several schools in different countries as a guest lecturer.

The accommodation was very comfortable and conveniently located, close to the bus stop. Moving around was effortless, even after a night out with new found friends. The GSERM experience was not all things academic. We were given downtime to explore the city, enjoy the night life and mingle with the locals.

I would unquestionably recommend this program to any research scholar regardless of nationality. This program helped immensely with my research methodology. I am close to the completion of my thesis.
