The Global Business School Network, in partnership with Lancaster University Management School (LUMS), launched a impact community of entrepreneur in residence (EiR) programs. At any university, an EiR program provides a unique opportunity for students to learn from and engage directly with local business entrepreneurs. EiR programs are a vital part of entrepreneurship education as they support teaching, encourage creation and sharing of best practices, and promote more opportunities for research.

This impact community will work to amplify these benefits of EiR programs by expanding international peer to peer sharing, enhancing the effectiveness, and improving the impact of EiR programs. Through this community, schools with existing EiR programs will work together to publish monthly articles and create exchange opportunities within the network.

The EiR impact community will also support schools at the beginning of their EiR journey. In partnership with GBSN, LUMS will be offering two different tracks to schools looking to begin or accelerate their EiR program. Detailed below, these two opportunities, along with support from other EiR programs will enable schools to get their EiR programs up and running to begin contributing to the larger sub-network of EiR programs.

Objectives

The GBSN Impact Community for Entrepreneurs in Residence is designed to have the following general objectives:

Expand international peer to peer sharing on how to develop and sustain an EiR program.

Enhance the effectiveness of EiR programs through increased connections and access to more resources.

Improve the impact of EiR programs on their institutions, local communities and the learners.

Program Spotlight.

The GBSN Global Entrepreneur in Residence (EiR) Program is a new collaborative effort with Lancaster University Management School and the American University in Cairo School of Business.

An initiative, built on the success of the initial pilot, is designed for graduate and undergraduate students and faculty to work closely with Entrepreneurs in Residence from different GBSN Member schools. The program is designed to help students and faculty improve communities through the research they do and the training programs they conduct.
