The SCM World recently released the top 100 schools for supply chain education. GBSN member schools hold 3 of the top 5 positions: Michigan State (1), MIT (4), and Arizona State (5). Over 2,000 professionals around the world participated in survey in which they were asked to select their three top universities “as a marker of supply chain talent.” Michigan State was not only number one atop the list but it surpassed rival school Penn State (2) by over 400 points; which was one and a half times more than the point differential in the following four schools combined.
In total the survey discovered the vast diversity of programs being run around the globe. The final 100 ranked programs include universities on five continents with formats ranging from supply chain quietly embedded in MBA curricula to Industrial Engineering PhD’s and of course full-scale formal masters’ degrees in supply chain. GBSN continues to connect schools across the ranking to build the capacity of the global marketplace. We at GBSN are proud to be a leader at the forefront of these connections:
“Many (schools) in fact are experimenting with partnerships across the globe, research centers that work closely with industry, and joint degree programs. It is clear that innovative approaches to developing talent in supply chain appeal to hiring firms and that those universities willing to change are pulling ahead. -Kevin O’Marah, Forbes Contributor
