We are excited to share a unique opportunity for GBSN faculty and experts to volunteer as mentors in the LIFT Data Program, an open innovation initiative led by the Central Bank of Brazil in partnership with Fenasbac.
The program supports 20 competitively selected project teams developing data-driven solutions using public databases, spanning areas such as finance, sustainability, digital transformation and financial inclusion.
These projects are now in a critical development phase, working toward a proof of concept by July 31st. Throughout this process, teams can request ad-hoc mentorship sessions with specialists in areas such as technology, product development, finance, economics, or sustainability. Thatâs where your expertise and mentorship can make a meaningful impact.
About the Mentorship Experience:
- Project teams review a list of approved mentors and request sessions based on expertise alignment.
- If selected, you will receive a summary of the project, proposed goals, agenda, and supporting materials to prepare for the session.
- Sessions are virtual, typically 1 hour, and entirely voluntary and flexible based on your availability.
- Mentorship is not guaranteed, as it depends on project demand, but it’s a valuable way to engage with cutting-edge innovation and expand your network, and youâll be supported by the LIFT Data team along the way.
- Mentoring will take place from now through July 30th.

The 2025 edition is focused on data-based solutions for sustainability and green financing challenges.

Background:
The transition to a net zero economy is a key component of mitigating and adapting to climate change, which poses a range of potential threats to human rights. An enormous amount of financing must be mobilized to support these activities. At the same time, the human rights risks associated with greening the global economyâincluding mining of
critical minerals and green energy production, among othersâare gaining growing attention. However, the business and human rights literature has not yet dealt extensively with the complex connections between climate change and sustainable finance for a transition that respects human rights while facilitating efforts to save humanity.
This exploratory workshop aims identify and map current and emerging research by scholars who work on this topic and explore opportunities for further collaboration. The intention is to host a symposium and organize a special issue or edited book volume on this topic in the near future.

leadership of AABS member schools across the continent.
The objective will be to reduce the gender gap across leadership levels within African business schools, enhance Africaâs ranking in global competitiveness reports on gender equality, and achieve gender balance in decision-making positions.
