GBSN member school, TUM School of Management, has earned the EQUIS accreditation, one of the most important international accreditations for business schools. The EQUIS signet is awarded by the European Foundation for Management Development in Brussels (EFMD). It is a globally recognized certificate of quality, assigned with the aim of improving international management education. In order to earn the EQUIS signet, the schools have to carry out a self-assessment, they are then examined by an international team of professors and top managers. Particular emphasis is placed on the internationality of the school. The EQUIS or AACSB seal is also a prerequisite for participating in the FT rankings.
The EQUIS award complements the AMBA accreditation for TUM’s Executive MBA programs received as early as 2015. It is also a further step towards the “Triple Crown”, the full set of three top accreditations Ñ namely AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS. Only 70 business faculties and business schools worldwide hold all three signets.
“The EQUIS accreditation confirms our unique position at the interface between management and technology in an impressive way. Our growing international focus on European research projects and an increasing number of courses taught in English have put us on a par with major international competitors.”Gunther Friedl, Dean, TUM School of Management
