WU – Vienna University of Economics and Business Announces Winners of GBSN Scholarships for the 2018 International Summer University

For a second year, WU – Vienna University of Economics and Business is extending scholarship opportunities to undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in GBSN member schools from developing countries.

Following a competitive application process, six students from five GBSN member schools have been awarded scholarships to the 2018 International Summer University ISUWU, an intensive short program, which provides students with an excellent opportunity for international education. Congratulations to the students from the following universities for being selected!

Undergraduate

  1. American University in Cairo, Egypt
  2. Lahore School of Economics, Pakistan
  3. Universidad Eafit, Colombia

Graduate

  1. Lahore School of Economics, Pakistan
  2. Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), Ghana

The two ISUWU sessions (July and August) offer a wide range of courses both on the undergraduate and graduate levels.

  • The undergraduate program consists of two courses which are taught consecutively over the duration of three weeks. Completion of the undergraduate program is worth 8 ECTS-Credits.
  • The graduate program consists of three courses which are taught consecutively over the duration of three weeks. Completion of the graduate program is worth 9 ECTS-Credits.

The scholarship students will benefit from various cultural and social activities organized by the ISUWU team. These activities will give them the opportunity to gain insights into life in Vienna and Austria and get to know their fellow students. The social program is a mix of social, cultural and international events. Activities may for instance include guided tours of world-famous museums like the “Albertina” or a visit to a traditional Viennese “Heuriger,” where students can experience the unique atmosphere of a typical Austrian wine tavern.

Following the program, GBSN will share testimonials from the scholarship students that will shed light on their experience.

The WU – Vienna University of Economics and Business will be offering five scholarships for the 2019 International Summer University.

These member-led initiatives offer extremely valuable learning opportunities for students at different member schools across the globe. These member-led initiatives enrich faculty, students and campuses with cross-border connections and help to spread best practice throughout the network.

GBSN works with our member schools to continue to offer opportunities for international exchange, support and development within the network.
