Gender-Smart Entrepreneurship Education & Training +

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced small business support organizations and educational institutions to re-think how they deliver entrepreneurship education and training. The unprecedented transition to online delivery methods presents an opportunity to create more inclusive entrepreneurship courses, programs and small business support services.

Authored by Dr. Barbara Orser and Dr. Catherine Elliott, Gender-Smart Entrepreneurship Education & Training Plus (GEET+) presents a toolkit of resources to support inclusive entrepreneurship education and training. Telfer faculty are also collaborating with global knowledge partners, such as Women’s Economic Initiative and the Global Business School Network, to adopt insights from this ground-breaking report and strengthen the design and delivery of entrepreneurship courses and programs.

The Online Teacher Training Series

The ongoing Covid crisis has triggered one of the biggest changes in recent decades within educational institutions. Teaching in most schools and universities has moved online and both faculty and students have been forced to come to terms rapidly with a whole new way of teaching and learning. While the ongoing global roll-out of the Covid vaccine shows a way out of the health crisis, most educators believe that online teaching is here to stay and will become an increasingly important part of education going forward.

This disruption in the education system is an opportunity to further innovation in pedagogy and learning. Online teaching itself will evolve in the coming years and faculty will need to rethink many aspects of how they teach and engage with students online. GBSN is pleased to present a certificate program for online teaching. This certificate program is being offered in partnership with the Portulans Institute (a Washington, DC based not-for-profit research institute), Igesia.co (a digital learning edutech company) and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
